Stuff keeps getting put off I was sick the past few days- nothing serious, just the sniffles and some aches and pains. So now I'm really behind on making Christmas presents, but I'm hoping I'll make up for it this week.

My husband's schedule is so weird right now that when he comes home early or really late it's throwing my schedule off. When I think I have time to work on stuff, he comes home, and then we do all the errands we've been putting off because he's been working so much... Can't wait til he is no longer an intern so he will have regular work hours. Being married to a doctor is difficult, only do it if you know you can deal with strange schedules, frequent on call rotations, and your SO being gone a lot. The pay is good, but it's not all sparkly fun time until you get older (like 15 years from now for us).

Meanwhile my art is being jerked in 5 different directions- requests, practicing figure drawing, plushies, clay figures, and drawing for myself. Figure drawing class ends in a couple weeks, so I'll need to keep on the ball with practice until the next semester starts sometime in January. I haven't drawn anything for myself in awhile and it's starting to wear one me. My present to myself this Xmas will be to make cute plushies from my book.

How are you guys doing? Do you celebrate Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanzaa/Winter Solstice/anything else I left out? What are your plans?

And I'm starting to make presents I'm making drawings for some friends, plushies for others, and clay figurines. Because of copyright restrictions I probably won't be able to post some of them. The plushies are from a craft book, so somebody else designed them.

I made a decision the other day that I'm going to put film making on the back burner for now. I just don't have the money or the support network here like I did back in my hometown. The film community here is so tiny and I just don't have the motivation to infiltrate it and schmooze my way in. All of this on top of the fact that I haven't been really inspired by anything lately.

On the other hand, I'm throwing myself full throttle into art. I'm finally practicing every day, and I feel like I've made a big step forward by taking the figure drawing class.
