Ideas come in a variety of ways with me. Sometimes I'll see something in a movie or (more often) a video game that will trigger some kind of creative thingy--not that I have to draw that specific thing, but something similar, whether its a creature or environment, whatever.
Sometimes a fully-formed image just pops in randomly and demand to be drawn. (Sometimes it pops in with actual tangible force...) Anything can trigger this one, I'm really not sure where they come from...

Oftentimes I find that when I'm desperately looking for something to draw/paint/whatever, and I feel no inspiration from other sources, I'll just sit down with some music and doodle the heck out of my sketchbook, anything and everything that comes to mind. Be sloppy. Draw on top of other doodles. Draw 50 things on a page. Don't fuss over anything; if you don't like it, just drop that one and start another. It's basically like taking a cerebral dump. Usually in amongst the scribbles is something worth expanding on.

Finding inspiration can be the hardest part of art sometimes.

I look at dictionaries. Really.

Also some of the best things in my drawings came because I started drawing something really boring and spur-of-the-moment decided to stick some awesome stuff in to spice it up. So if something's boring maybe you should draw it anyway!

I don't know, I can see a dolphin when I see a single blue stripe in a white background, it just happens. But I do get inspired by things, just random things. Don't worry, it'll come, just wait a little until it does

Hmmmb maybe I should experiment then? Trying doing something abstract like lines on a background and see what pops up Thanks!

Ahhh I see, so I could try drawing a still life or a portrait of my friend and then go from there. Because I do feel like I'm just copying what I see and not adding anything interesting to it at all.

You could try that, yes Or one line, two different colours, flowing into each other, like the white and blue that I saw. Anyway, good luck, and don't forget to have fun ^^

tbh im kinda in your position now i actually want to draw or paint something, but nothing comes to mind.. so what did i do to push it? i watched Lord of the Rings, Matrix, Juno, White Oleander.. those are my favorite movies, and used google-photos search to find photos of characters i really like to see and photos of creatures I find inspiring, downloaded a bunch.. and I hope that will do the trick
I think finding inspiration is the toughest part of art, especially when you feel empty.. you just have to keep on going, and it will come to you - maybe even from the most boring drawing you will do, you will see a better position or composition or colours you could do.. so i say, just do something, whatever it is!
